The Y.M.C.,M “Hard-up” social, held on Wednesday night in aid of the library funds, was a great success, the attendance being satisfactory. The management, with Miss Keats as secretary, worked energetically and deserve the thanks of till. Mrs H. G. Bryant had the honour of' winning the first prize for the ladies, while Mr Mellarrv secured the gent's prize. Mrs Munro. of Auckland, is at present on a visit to her sister, Sirs Bradshaw.
