LEVIN BOWLING CLUB. At the annual ineeting of the Levin Bowling Club, held last Thursday night, the following officers were elected:— President. Mr IK AV. Mathesori; vice-president, Mr K. s LancaHter; secretary and treasurer, Mr W. Bui! (reelected); match committee, Messrs J. Bollock, U. G. Roe and V. Higgins; green committee, Messrs V. Higgins. H. Charmings and J. A. Has-.vell. The balance -heel showed the je eeipts to have been £l2l 2s 3d. made up of a balance of £0 lit 9.1 in hand at the beginning of the year, bowlers’ subscript ions £B7 Its #5.1, croquet subscription* £2*> ss, Mindies' £1 2s. The expenditure left a credit balance of £3 !9s *5.1. The chief items were: Top dressing the green £2l Is Pd. interest £lB 2s, eacrtaker £l9 L>, rates £4 4s Pd. shell £<; 10-. Tho matter of a levy for providing afternoon tea was discussed, and eventually held over for discussion by a combined meeting of the Bowling and Croquet Clubs. The matter of subscription fee was left over until next meeting. A committee set up some time ago recommended that the. club purchase the bowling green, at present owned by a small company, at a of £373; also that an additional piece of land making a total of £7OO. The committee suggested that the money be raised necessary for <■• roquet at a cost of £-325, by donations and organised efforts, the projwsrty. when purchased, to be vested in the Borough Council. After considerable discussion the committee ’• recommendation was adopted, and a plan of campaign for raising the xr.oncv was outlined.
