OTAKI'S REST RESORT.
* There was a full attendance of committeemen present at the last rest, insort meeting, and again the utmost enthusiasm prevailed. It was reported that Mr Honi McMillan had agreed to give ,a free picture entertainment in aid of the funds, and that the star item would be "Riders of the Purple Sage." The display will be made on September 10th. If was decided that the plan- and specifications in connection with tielaying oar of the grounds, as proposed by Mr Harold Small, be adopted, while the meeting expressed regret that -Ire "Otaki Mail" had made unfavourable comments. The members expressed their entire confidence in Mr Small's ability to carry out the scheme. A donation of a beech tree was received from Mis- Lee, while it was agreed to write to the Returned Soldiers' Association to a«k if a portion of t.h'-ir funds would be available for the resort. It was; pointed out that possession of I the building on the ground had now i been obtained, and that after inspeet (ion it would be removed and work pushed on with as rapidly as possible.
