BIG DAIRY CATTLE ENTRY. The usual fortnightly sale was held in Levin on Wednesday, when there was a large attendance of buyers. There was only a moderate yarding- of sheep, but the demand was good, and Xtractically every line entered was cleared. Cattle were also a strong section, particularly in dairy sorts, but the quality was very mixed. Anything good and near profit commanded fair prices, but low-conditioned and weedy borts were hard to quit. ishcep.—The fat sheep entries included a small pen of prime fat woolly hoggets, which realised £2 17s per head. Other good lines brought litis lid and -17 s, and fat ewes up to 32s od. Mixed sex store hoggets reached fils tid, store ewes fids, and a pen ol mixed ago wethers 32s 6d. A good even line of hoggets met keen competition, and were quitted at 25s Sd and filis Sd. Eat Cattle. —There were some pens of prime beef among the fats, the best price being £ls for a uiee line of six bullocks. Eat hcil'ers realised up to £l2 7s fid to £lO ss, and forward-condi-tioned lots of bullocks £ll and £0 Is. (Stores were well represented, cows being in fair demand nt £-1 10a and £5, heifers £0 7s tid, cows rvith calves £5, and two-year steers £O. ! Dairy Cattle.—A large entry of mixed sorts were forward, the best sorts being well competed for. August and (September culvers brought £l7 10s, £l7, £lO 10s, £l-1, and others down to £ls, £lfi, and £S 15s. Air Hayes, of Koputaroa, entered a very line line of fill odd heifers in calf, which produced the best competition of the day, the prices ranging from £l7 0s to £ll. LEVIN STOCK SALE. Bidding for all classes of stock was keen, especially fat sheep, and most lines changed hands at an advance on late rates.
