OTAKI PEACE MEMORIAL
At a committee meeting hold recently in connection with the proposed pence memorial for Otaki there were present Messrs J. R.. Bills, J. P. Brandon, A. Smith, J. S. Pole, C. H. Williams (secretary), and Mesdames C. 11. /Williams and G. Fox. It was decided to take steps to secure immediate possession of the section purchased as site for the memorial, and to do necessary clearing, etc. In viev o£ the latter it was agreed to hold a working bee on Wednesday next,'am: to invite all interested to assist. It was resolved to ask Mr Harold Small to lay out the grounds, and it lias since been reported that he had agreed to do so. It was also resolved to solicit furthe; donations by waiting on residents. Messrs Williams and Pole were ap pointed to inspect the building on tinsection with a view of ascertaining v\hiit timber was lit lor use and foi sale. It was reported that, approximately, there was about £450 in hand or pro raised, which proved that the project had the support of the public.
