The acting-chairman of the Wellington City Corporation Milk Committee reports that after protracted negotiations with the Board of Trade, farmers, and themselves, the Board of Trade delivered judgment as follows: •'•"Featherston farmers to receive Is 3d at factory for balance of winter term. For the months of April and j May 15 per cent to bo added to the I above, which works out at Is -Id per ! gallon, and for the months of June and i July <SO per cent, which will work out at Is lOd per gallon. j "At a large meeting held on Monday those farmers who are working I vnder an agreement with the Council, • met the Milk Committee to discuss the new state of affairs, and it was mutually agreed that the price to be paid to j those suppliers be Is 6Jd for the balance of this winter term, delivered in j city. "Sundry other matters were agreed i upon, and at the conclusion of the | meeting those present representing! three districts were unanimous in say- \ iug they were going back themselves i to prepare, and advise their fellows to prepare, for next winter's supply. j "ft is the intention of the commit- ' tee to convene meetings throughout the whole of the districts supplying Wellington City with milk, for the purpose of getting into close touch with the farmers, and make known as ' widely as possible the prices that will i obtain under the agreement that has been arrived at."
