It is understood that Mr F. S. • Easton. who has been aa active and | valuable'member of the FoxtOll Racing Cluli. intends resigning .from the com- ' mil tee. AV. Bowden, who won the Hack and Hunters' Steeplechase on Sturdee. after riding a fine race, was unfortunate in the big steeples. At the back of the course his mount (AVirokino) , struck heavily, but Bowden made a splendid recovery, but later tho horse fell and he received a shaking and slight facial injuries. The Otaki lider also rode Otaura Kid, who finished third in the Vittoriu Hurdles. j
