Coates:—“Kc closing of Otaki jmail, I have made inquiries and find that the mail closes at 9 a.ir... and is .delivered to the- contractor at 9-5 a .in., allowing him fifteen minutes between Otaki and Otaki il—iivray, including time taken to pick ap and set 'down.passengers on arrival at BtatiosTite .coniigctor has only seven minutes to ‘heliyer * hag to Otaki gsilway post ' Office, place three tags on the tifeis §&d j take delivery of several inward bags. ! The time of closing mail cannot he extended without great possibility of missing connection. Apparently those who made representations in the matter were under the impression that the train 1 afp at 0.40 a.m., whereas under present time-table the train leave-, at 0.27.
