OTAKI TOWN BOARD.

Electric Light Payment, rhf; question of payment of £2-jO, claimed by Mr J. D Reardon for work in connection with the proposed elec.trie light installation, w.v- fully- considered. While some members sogt!n; matter go to arbitration, other; favoured contesting the matter in Court, while some wished to act on the advice of the Municipal Solicitor. It was finally agreed to ask Mr Reardon if ho was willing to accept II per cent :u place of h’i per cent in full settlement of his claim. J Licensing Levy. The Chairman moved that the charge of i-~t per annum levied against the Board by the Justice .Department, as salary for the Clerk of the Licensing Committee, was considered excessive, arid that the Department be asked to re-luce -ame to £lO, also that the Hornv; beaus County Council and other local bodies icttrfeted be supplied with a ropy of the ro.-.oi ution.—Carried. Proponed Borough. Ihe proposed borough boundaries were diseitijae-i, it was agreed that natural boundaries woaJjf be tbs best. It was decided to include land la the area from the Waitohu road to the river, and from Riegawhati road to the beach.
