AMUSEMENTS

/ THE EIWIS. The "Kiwis," a clever company of returned soldier entertainers, gave a performance at Foxton on Tuesday evening to an enthusiastic audience. The programme consisted of vocal and elocutionary items, and short amusing and clever sketches. The two female impersonators were particularly good, both in make-up and voice, while their dancing was artistic and graceful. Most of the items were deservedly encored. The company will appear in Otaki tonight.

MAORILAND PICTURES. A big holiday attraction will be shown all this week. To-night tire famous "Eiwis," who have a big reputation, will perform; on Tuesday "Cinderella Man," a delightful picture, will be shown, while on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday there will be speeial films. All tho pictures are claimed to be much above the ordinary, and judging by pamphlets to hand this is amply borno out. The settings in each are first class, the acting is abovo the average, while in all cases trio climax pleases. BAND SOCIAL. Wo hope to see a large gathering at Theatre on Wednesday evening next, at the social in aid of the Otaki Band funds. Tho band is now placed on an excellent footing, and promises to become a valuable local institution in many ways. As such it deserves the hearty support of the public. On Wednesday night a good musical programme will be submitted, while dancing will be indulged in.
