TELEGAPHED TOTE FIGURES. Under the new regulations governing tho transmission of wires dealing with racing, the <|uestion has arisen of the legality- of publishing tho figures before the names of the horses, showing the order in which they were backed on the totalisator. The point was referred to the Crown Law Oflico and a ruling has been received, that as the practice hast o do with betting it cannot be allowed. The Telegraph Department announces that in view of this opinion these figures must, in future bo omitted from the telegraphed race reports.
