FARMERS’ UNION.

OHAU. At a meeting cf the Ohau branch of the Farmers ’ Union held last week, Air Tancred Cooper gave an interesting address on the year’s work. Air A. McLcavev was re-elected president; vice-presidents, Alessrs It. G. Wall and C. 1. Harkness; executive, Alessrs G. H. Powles, .T. Bishop and J. Davies; delegate! to Sub-provincial Executive, Mr Harkness; secretary, Air R. V. Brown. It was decided to ask Air Singleton to give an address in June on 1 milktesting.

MANAKAU BRANCH. The usual monthly meeting of the Alanakau branch of the N.Z. Farmers’ Union was <hold on Thursday evening last, when there was a good attendance, as usual. Air F. Burnell occupied the chair. It was decided to ask Air Ward (Instructor of Agriculture) to visit Manakau and report on soils; also to give an address. The suggested closing of the Otaki Hospital was discussed (reported elsewhere), and various other matters dealt with by the meeting.
