THE PRINCE’S VISIT.
♦ OTAKI’S ADDRESS. Mr .T. I?. Brandon (chairman of the Otaki Town Board) has received the following letter from Lieut.-Colonel G. | AV. M. Grigg, secretary to H.R.H. the I Prince of AVales:— “I am directed by the Prince of AVale3 to convey to you his sincere, thanks for the kind address presented by you on behalf of the people, Pakeha and Maori, of the Otaki district. His Royal Highness was very much disappointed at having to omit Otaki from his itinerary in the -North Island owing to the necessary curtailment of his railway tour, and begs you to express his regret to all those whom you represent. He much appreciates the loyal sentiments expressed in your address, and thanks you for your good wishes, which he heartily reciprocates.”
The Prince spent a quiet day on Saturday, and again yesterday, and left Wellington in the Renown in the early hours of this morning for I’icton.
