| Sir .lames Allen, who is to become j High Commissioner for New Zealand, was on Friday evening farewelled at Wellington by members of the Returned Soldiers' Association. Mr:. L. If. Freeman, of Wbyte'Hotel, Foxton, with hor two children, left by the Corintbic yesterday morning on a visit to her parent.- at Stevenage, Herts, England. The Hon. W. D. S. Mr George Kit by, of Koputaroa, died at his home a few days ago, aged 62 years, The late Mr Kii-'oy was a sterling settler, and was hell in high esteem in the Koputaroa district, where he had rc.-ided for the past 21 years; also previously in the Ohariu Valley. lie leaves a wife and family of sevenone daughter and six sons.
