METHODIST CHURCH.
OTAKI CIRCUIT QUARTERLY MEETING. The quarterly meeting of ihe officers of the Otaki Methodist cir.-uil was held on Wednesday afternoon last at the Otaki church, when there were present: Rev. W. c. (-dad.-, M.A. (presiding). Messrs Hale and K. Clarke (i'nraparailltui), Mis l'.o-i. Miss Kirk and Mr H. Best (Te Horn). Mrs IVnn. .Messrs H. Cockrell and Frank I'enn (Otaki). Mr Harold Best uas duly elected junior circuit slewnid lo lill the vacancy unfilled sii last meeting. The Chairman reported re membership returns. The balance-sheet showed that the deficit of Ihe previous qusirtei had been almost wiped out, mainly due to harvest festival efforts held during the
quarter. Jt. was resolved to sanction the following special efforts during the current quarter:—Otaki, Te lb.ro and I'arnparaunm Trusts and Foreign Misan appeal for assistance for the young people's department, Ihe circuit to contribute the amount specified by Conference. The chairman reported that the Kev. W. Sinclair (Foreign Mission organiser) would be in the district on or about Plli May. and would take one service and conduct one public meeting in the circuit. Arrangements for these meetings were left in the hands of the chairman and Mr Kirk (local mission
organiser) to attend 10. The meeting resolved lo increase the-
home missionary's stipend by £2.. per annum, in accordance with the request
of conference, and to make application to the H..M. Kxeculive for n £ for £
