ANOTHER FOXTON FIRE.

VERY HEAVY LOSSES. Another disastrous Tiro broke out at ; 11.30 o'clock on Thursday night, at the rear of Perreau's bakery business, in Main Street. The whole of the block and an old wooden block adjoining, owned by Mr Hennessy, wore- de- ' st roved. Perroau 's block was occupied by Mattar (tobacconist), Mr Perreau's shop and dwelling, the Marble Bar, and Mr Ryder's boot establishment. • The Hennessy buildings were occupied by Mr Heaseman (tailor), Mr i Dudson (fruiterer), and the C. M. Ross j Drapery Co. ; The premises of the Red Shield Club j (organised by Captain Coffin, of the j Salvation Army), detached by about, twenty feet froni the Hennessy block, •was saved. - j

The. stock:- trow the various shops were salvaged. The only fire-lighting appliances were a small single-cylinder chemical engine, which, despite the splendid efforts Of the brigc.lv, was totally inadequate

to cope with the conflagration. The lire was one of the most disastrous experienced in Foxton, and the cause of the outbreak is a mystery.
