LOSS OF MEMORY.
A man in rags and suffering from loss of memory was discovered at Lambertvillo, Maryland, and lodged in the town gaol (says a .Vow Fork correspondent). He uns identified there as Dr. John i,. Brand, 6-1. who disappeared from his homo at: Gloucester. Massachusetts, in March. I!G7. Mr Brand is a native of England. His son, Eieut.(.'ommnmler Charles Brand, reading in the Philadelphia newspapers a description of the doctor, hurried 'o Lambertvilla and, approaching him, said: “Father, don’t, you know me?" The man gazed at him with wide-open eves, placed his hands on his son shoulders; then, realising his inability to remember, gave a deep sob and sank to the ground. He was carried to bed. An inveterate reader, a doctor of music, and of medicine. Mr Brand had on several occasions suffered from minor attacks of amnesia from which he recovered. Home time before his disappearance ho had been devoting him-self-entirely to research work. I’hysirtan* say that with proper treatment it should be possible to restore his memory.
