SPORTING.
Among those who attended the Marlborough Racing Club’s recent initial meeting at AVaterlea (says the “Express”), and followed the proceedings with keen interest, was Mr 'Lhoriia.Murphy, of Spring Creek, who was at the first race meeting ever held m New Zealand, an event which took place at Nelson. Mr Murphy, who is mi years of age, has been attending the local race meetings throughout their histoiy, and thero was no more interesting or honoured figure at AVaterlea this wee*.
