MAORILAND PICTURES.

To-morrow a Paramount feature, “On Ihe Quiet,” will be filmed. It is a fine picture, splendidly portrayed, and up to date in all particulars. On Saturday the star will be “Such a Little Pirate.” Think of a delightful talc of pirates and a hunt for buried treasure! That is the kind of motion story that Lila Leo. the lovely and youthful Paramount screen star, had fo portray in “Such a Little Pirate.” There arc “hold, bad men” in it. but no bloodshed; so that the picture will charm fhc children —and also all those grown-ups who have not lost that bloom of mental youth without which adults are just ordinary humdrum people. Lose this, and you have lost your charm for ever! Of course, there is action and excitement in the photo-play there always in when pirates are about! But the appeal is largely to that entrancing sense of fun and simple humanness that are the characteristics of all the really- captivating people you know. Readers should make a point of seeing this picture. Lila and her old grandfather, and the solemn old orang-outang, who takes his part in such a cunning old way —and “Bad-Eye” and his fellow villains—all arc there. Of course, the pirates are not truly pirates. One knew that all along. But all the samo the scoundrels nearly grabbed the gold before Lila and her lover reached Treasure Island!
