■•" Another turn of the American screw 5s being made. This time it is in rc- . ispect to benzine. Not satisfied with Weeding us mercilessly by way of exchange in our purchases of motor cars, Uncle Sam now keeps us on short benzine rations. Petrol is being sold in San Francisco at nincpence per gallon, and yet. we have to pay six times that .amount, and consider ourselves lucky io get it. But the Americans are not entirely to bin rue for the present Shortage in New Zealand. There has been something wrong with the distribution. There is more than a suspicion that hoarding has taken place. The Board of Trade, has now awakened, and has decided that only essential industries shall be supplied.
