HINEMOA (WELLINGTON) V. OTAKI. A match for the. Shucox Cup was played on Wednesday afternoon at Otaki in glorious weather between members of the Hinemoa (Wellington) .Masonic Uodge and members of the Otaki Tjodge. ft-rear interest prevailed, and a most enjoyable game resulted, Wellington ultimately proving victorious by 23—IS. The Otaki rink was represented by L. St.. George, 0. F. [Vtrie. J. K. Bills, and A. Satherley (skip), while the Hinemoa representatives were Mnplebeck, A. Ramsay. A. Raven, and I*. McWkanncll (skip). Otaki opened badly and allowed the visitors to put on eight on the first two heads. This proved a handicap the local players tailed to make np. and Hincjuoa ultimately won by this mar-
gin. At the finish Mr A. G. Williams handed over the cup to Mr M.eWhannell, who graeeully acknowledged the handsome trophy, and at the same time thanked Mr Williams for his flattering remarks. Mr Satherley also added a few words of congratulation, after which cheers were heartily given for both Tinks.
A match was also played between a rink of Druids—T. B. Baxf H. Kilmisler, A. D. Webster, and D. Noble (Otaki) —and a rink of Wellington Masons—Tingey, McArdlo, Robins, and Russell. Otaki, in this contest, secured ;i comfortable win, 22—15. although at times play was very even. The City players on the sixth head had a good lead, but on the next four heads failed to score. On the Hth head they were only two to the bad, but. after this failed to make headway.
