HELPING HAND NEEDED.

(TO the Editor.) Sir,—Judging by the resent meeting of ratepayers in Otaki we have quite a number of men who have the welfare of the town at heart, and who, no doubt, would give a pound or two to push matters. If they are still sincere let me suggest that .the principal speakers at the moeting club together and purchase a flag-pole (the late Dr, Huthwaite's), which, I understand, is for sale at a modest figure. They could hand it over to the town, and the fine large flag now in possession of the Town Board, could be displayed thereon on important occasions. Now, come on, all you people who had such a flow of language, be up and doing—talk less!—Yours. NUGAFONOS.
