NEWTOWN V. OTAKI. Enjoyable games eventuated • on Saturday at Otaki between rinks representing tho above clubs. The day was au ideal one, and tho green in fine order. Following aro results of the games, Newtown being mentioned first in each case:—

Two games were drawD, but on the aggregate the Newtown players won by 10 points.

A match for the Simcox Cnp will be played at Otaki on March 3rd, when a rink from the Wellington Masonic Lodge will be in Otaki. Mrs Mcßeat.h has generously given a donation to the Otaki Bowling Club for a trophy, to be played for between members. The club has now on order a shield which will bo known as the “Mcßcath Memorial Shield.” It will be of handsome design, and a trophy that should cause much interest. Before the recent rain the Palmerston North bowling green was so keen that, with a head of 80 feet two bowls played one on each hand made almost a complete circle, the measurement from the points of maximum draw 73 feet.
