RIFLE SHOOTING.

FRESH FOOD AND ICE COMPANY’S CUP. RETAINED BY LEVIN RIFLE CLUB. On Saturday afternoon the AVbareroa Rifle Club (Paraparaumu) jmlrneyed to Levin and challenged the Levin Rifle Club, holders of the Fresh Food and Ice Company’s Cup, to a match for the trophy. The home club were well prepared for the visitors, and defeated them by 31 points. Tho day was fine, but tho light was very changeable at times and was trying to marksmen. There was also a tricky southeasterly wind blowing down the range, which made matters worse.

The Whareroa Rifle Club although defeated spent a very enjoyable day, and everyone enjoyed themselves. Rifleman W. Ingram, of Levin Rifle Club, was top scorer for the day with 98 points, and Rifleman L. Catley was runner-up with 93 points. Conditions were seven shots and sightcr at 200, 500 and 60(1 yards ranges. HAUTERE RIFLE CLUB. On Saturday last members of the Hautere Rifle Club fired tho seeond shoot in the final round of the Belt, Mrs J. Guy’s, Messrs Bills and Moore’s and Mr Harold Jones’ trophies. The top scotct for the day was Rifleman G. Lethbridge, who put on the fine score of 34 in a very nasty shoot, .the wind being very troublesome. Following are the scores:—

The executive would like a full muster on tho range on Saturday to discuss having a field day on Easter Monday.
