: Mr W. H. Field, M.P., has received jthe following letter from the Tourist Department relative to track improvements over the Tararuas from Otaki to iGreytown:—

The expenditure of £IOO for the erection of a hut at Table Top will be authorised, subject to specifications.for the building being approved by the Department. The question of this Department making a "rant for t' nut between Mounts Hector and Field, and extension of the hut at Mount Alpha, is being held over for consideration after it is known jwlini expenditure will be authorise! by the Public Works Department. '
