IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT.
Wellington, February S. Mr Massey states that the Imperial authorities are making enquiries about the terms on which New Zealand butter and cheese might be purchased. He has notified the representatives of the butter and cheese industries that the Imperial Government asked to know iheir w ishes as to prices and conditions of purchase. The butter and cheese people would now confer and let him know their opinions, and it would be his duty to convey them to the Imperial Government. He thought a meeting of representatives of the dairy industry would be held late in this week.
Referring to the proposal that a committee representing tho meat producers in New Zealand should be sent Homo to investigate conditions, Mr Massey, said that he was quite prepnred to send the committee Home if the request wore renewed.
