LEVIN .WINS FRESH FOOD AND

ICE CO’S CUP,

On Saturday afternoon (says the Levin “Chronicle”) the Levin Defence Rifle Club journeyed to Foxton to try conclusions with the Foxton Defence Hide Club, holders of the Fresh Food and Ico Company’s Cup. The afternoon was fine, but there was a fairly Strong and"(ricky wind blowing on the Foxton range; the light was fairly good, but on the whole the Foxton range is rather difficult, as the riflemen shoot with the sun and wind right in their faces. The Levin club had a fairly easy win, downing Foxton by 27 points (6SS to C6l), and bringing the cup to Levin. The local club will try and hold it against challenges from other clubs. Rifleman G. Glacken was top scorer for the day with 99 points out of a possible 105, a good shoot for the day, and ho was the only one to put on a possible for the day at 500yds, though there were two 34’s at 500yds, put on by Rifleman W. Ingram (Levin) und W. Symons (Foxton). The Foxton club supplied afternoon tea, which was much appreciated by tho Levin club, and everybody had an enjoyable time. Conditions were seven shots and sighter at 200, 500 and 600 yards ranges.
