MANAKAU.
(From Our Own Correspondent). A meeting of members of the local Teams Club was held last Monday night, when Mr C. Cotter presided over a small attendance. The meeting was held mainly for the purpose of electing a secretary, Mrs Bradshaw being unable to continue in the position. Mr P. A. D. (Mickle was unanimously elected lion, secretary and treasurer. It was resolved to get a now net .for one of the courts: also to secure more crockery for use by the ladies. Messrs Cotter aad Mickle kindly offered to erect a new gate, near the pavilion, this being thought necessary. It was reported that the contractor for the courts had promised to topdress the courts at the end of the season. A hope was expressed at. the meeting I that members would pay tlicir subscriptions as soon as possible. The club has been pint 1,0 heavy expense this season, and wishes to meet its liabilities. An error crept into your report of llic Methodist Church anniversary in last issue of tlic “Mail." It was Mr Howard Hunter who sang the solo—not Sir Howard Andrew.
