WEDNESDAY COMPETITION. WIN FOR MANAKAU. The first of the Wednesday cricket matches eventuated on Wednesday last, when Munnkau met the Training Farm at Mans knit. Neither ciub was fully represented. Batting first, Maimk.au Made 48-—Duncum 16. George 13. Hemmingiori and Marriott were responsible for most of the wicket*. Tim Farm team responded with 43. Kofood nnW Blair wore successful Irisridlcrs, tho former getting four wickets for 15 and Blair getting the splendid avorsge of five wickets for four. Foliowing on, the Mhnakati men did much better, knocking up 89. Duncum and W. Be van scored splendidly in this innings. The Farm then batted again, and had made only eight for the loss of four wickets when time v.-as etiled. Thus lln no kau won on the first inning* by the narrow margin of five nun.
