PARAPARAUMU NOTES.
(From Our Own ffiorrespondent). It is seldom that the residents of’ Paraparaumu have an opportunity of listening to such a talented company of entertainers as the half-dozen members of the Wellington Orphans’ Club, who provided the programme at the concert held in aid of the local Tennis Club’s funds on Saturday eveuing last. In spite of the inclemency of tho weather tho hall was'comfortably filled. Mr A. T. White, on behalf of the Tennis Club, welcomed tho performers, and again at the closo of the concert took tho opportunity of expressing the hearty thanks of the residents and members for the splendid programme submitted. After the conclusion o-f the concert programme dancing was engaged in until midnight, music for the dances being supplied by Misses E. Lynch rfhd A. Harris and Messrs G. Holloway and B. Drowitt. The Tennis Club’s funds should materially benefit as a result of the concert. The piano j was kindly lent by Mrs Spiers. j On account of the funeral of the late Mr J. A. Field taking place on Satur- j day afternoon, the usual fortnightly I shoot of the Whareroa Rifle Club was postponed until next Saturday.
