OTAKI STATE SCHOOL.

COMMITTEE MEETING. The monthly meeting of the Otaki State School Committee was held on Monday night. Present: Messrs J. R. Bills (chairman), A. AA r . Watts, M. IX. Avre, Mrs Bills and the Rev. G. F. Petrie. The headmaster’s report showed that the attendance was still good, also that Colonel Charters’ lecture, to the school children had been we)i attended, while the address itself a\:is a splendid, lesson to the rising generation. Tho inspector’s annual report on the cxaininaiion was not vet to hand. On the 22nd a beginning was made with Mr D. S. Mackenzie’s denial scheme, when a dozen children submitted to the preliminary examination. It was hoped parents would take advantage of the scheme for the sake of tho children.
