BOWLING.

A match that caused a deal of interest- was played on the local bowling green on Wednesday, when A. Smith, Shell, Knight and Satherley defeated Ayre, Bills, O’Rourke, and D. Noble, 28-22. The game was exciting, and was well in tho balance till the final stages wore Teachcd. A bowling match will be played at Lyall Bay to-morrow between tho Otaki and Lyall Bay Clubs. Otaki will be represented by C. Gooding, D. Noble, H. Kilmister, and M. H. Ayre. It was hoped to send two rinks, but, unfortunately, sufficient players were unable to make the trip. The Levin Bowling Club has a membership of 45, which is nearly double that of last year. On Wednesday the club played Foxton for tho Awabou Feathers, and won 22-17.
