PARAPARAUMU PATRIOTIC SOCIETY.
j On Saturday last the Patriotic .Society of Paraparaunra held their final rally of the season, when a very successful and enjoyable evening was spent. Thanhs to the energy of Mii W. .T. Howell, the inhabitants were given a splendid entertainment and concert by such well-known performers ' as the Misses B. and D. Foster, Mr P. Martin, Mr E. Fuller. Miss. J. Massey and Messrs G. and 8. Peek. Mew.rs G, and Sid Peek were seen at their best in the song, " Burning Question," but the whole company were-very brilliant, and kept the people in fit* of laughter with their wit, humour and song*. Following is the programme;—-Over-ture, "Entertainers' Bag," Miss Reg. Foster; opening chorus, the Company; tenor song, "Love light in Your Eye," Mr P. Martin; "The Burning Question, Coal," Geo. and Sid Peek; soprano solo, "Slave Song," Mils D. Forter; spook number, "Ghost of TTkclele," Mr F. Fuller; wiibrette song, "Wee, Wee Marie," Mis» J. Massey; toraedy character, "Impressions," Mr O. Peek; piano duet. Misses B. and D. second part of the programme was carried ou, and a most enjoyable entertainment was closed with ''God Save the King," after which the young people had just an hour for a very nleasant dance, and so ended one of the most enjoyable evenings Para' paraumu has known for a very long' :ime. Tennis Club Entertainment. The Paraparaumu Tennis Club hasbeen very fortunate in securing the assistance of Messrs W. Goudie, Prazer Thompson, Rupert Meates. H. P. Wood, W. W. Crawford, and Geo. Holloway. well known in Wellington as members >f the Orphans' Club, for the concert io bo held at Paraparaumu ou Saturday night in aid of the club's funds. i'he function promises to be a great success.
