METEOROLOGICAL.
The month of October was exceptionlly dry. The total jainfall. for the month was 2.lQin. Bain fell on 16 days, and the heaviest day's fall was ,S6in on the sth. In October of last year 3.42 inches foil, and the October average for the last fifteen years was 4.0!) inches. It will thus be seen that last month was exceptionally dry. Wellington’s rainfall for October totalled 1.98 m, while at Masterton only one inch was recorded for the month.
