Mr Oakley Browne, a well-known journalist, and for some years private secretary to .Sir Joseph Ward, is announced as a candidate for the Wellington North electorate, j Mr Evelyn Macdonald addressed a small gathering of electors at Levin ! last night, Mr J. McLeavey occupying the chair. Mr Macdonald gave a comprehensive address; and touched largely on the platform recently adopted by the Farmers’ sub-provincial executive. . •
