Speaking to a deputation from tho Council of Agriculture, Mr Massey said the Government would give all possible assistance to the commission that was being fjent to England by the farmerH. He. thought that would do useful work. Ho did not know if Sir Walter Buchanan agreed with him. Sir Walter Buchanan: I don't at all. Von have a good man in Dr. Reakes. Give him plenty of money and he can get the services of a detective force .that will get more information in a month than anybody you send from New Zealand can get in six months. I have been there and I know my helplessness.
. Mr Massey said he proposed to send Dr. Reakes with the delegates. Sir Walter Buchanan: Leave the others at homo.
Mr Massey: That is a. matter for the delegates. If the farmers want to send them I will do everything possible to assist them. Sir Walter Buchanan: You will advertise the whole concern and give the most public warning to the culprits you wish to discover.
