ADDINGTON MARKET. t Christchurch, October 15. ! At Addington to-day there was a ( slightly smaller- yarding of fat sheep, and about the same as last week of I cattle. Prime quality in both maintained* values, but the second grado J showed a weakening. , Store Sheep.—There was a slightly bigger yarding, but the proportion of I inferior was, again high, though not so pronounced as last week. Dealers' lines were in evidence. The market showed an improvement on last week, that for four-tooth wethers particularly so. Ewes and lambs 16s 9d (all counted), two and four-tooth wethers 33s Od, four and six-tooth wethers 30s to 43s Id, ewe hoggets 28s 7d to 33s 3d, mixed sex hoggets 18s fid,to 28s 9d, wether hoggets 24s to 2Ss 4d. Pat Lambs—l 23 penned. The market was easier except for best, which
sold up to 365. Pat Sheep.—The quality was better than the previous week, several very prime pens being forward. The market for these was up to recent values, but there was a decided lack of keenness for indifferent quality. Extra prime wethers to 725, prime wethers 51s to
665, medium SSs 3d to 495, lighter 073 7d to 40s 9d, extra prime ewes to 62s 3d, prime ewes 4Ss.6d to 565, medium ewes 41s to 475, lighter 31s 9d to 395, prime hoggets 45s to 555, lighter 36s Od.
Fat Cattle. —334 entered, which in-
eluded some pens of good quality beef, for which the demand was practically
on a par with the previous week. One pen of 15 four-year-old steers sold at £24 10s. Inferior sorts showed a decline. Extra prime steers £4O 2s 6d, prime £2l Ids to £34 10s, ordinary £lO to £l9, prime heifers £ls 10s to £2l 7s od, ordinary £8 10s to £l4 10s, extra prime eows to £2l 10s, prime £lB 10s, ordinary £7 5s to £l2 10s.
.Store Cattle. —There was an increased
yarding with a fair proportion of indifferent quality. There was practically no change in values. Three-year steers £l3 2s Od, two-year to £S 10s, dry cows £9 17s 6d, heifers £8 7s Od, yearlings £4.
Dairy Cows. —There was an average entry, and a fair sale for good sorts. Second and third culvers to £l6, others £S to £lO, heifers £lO 10s.
Vcaler. —There- was a fair yarding of poor quality. Runners £5 to £6 6s, good vealers £3 to £4 10s, fair 40s to 555. small and inferior 5s to 3Ss.
Pigs.—a medium entry brought a keen demand and good sale. Extra heavy baconcrs £lO, heavy £7 10s to £8 10s, medium £5 10s to £7 (equal to lid to llld per lb), heavy porkers £4 l(is to £5, medium £3 15s to £4 5s (equal.to Is per lb), choppers £6 to £9. Store pigs met with a brisk demand. Large stores 71s to 82s (id, medium 55s to 655, small 38s to 50s, weaners 24s to 38s Id, sows in pig £7 10s to £lO.
