CHURCH BAZAAR.
A RECORD SUCCESS. The Anglican Church bazaar, held at Brights’ Theatre on Wednesday afternoon and evening, proved most successful from ail points of view. The attendance was quite satisfactory, •while the stall-holders did good business. All stalls were well laden, and it was evident that tho canvassers had not been idle. A Xmas tree, bran tubs, guessing competitions, shooting gallery, etc., were also successfully run, and were the means of bringing in substantial sums. The plain, stall was under the supervision of Mrs Huthwaite, assisted by Mrs Wilson and Mrs Baker;, the fancy stall was in charge of Miss 'Caldwell, who took Miss Neil mid's place, who was indisposed. Miss Caldwell was assisted by Mrs ’Swabey, and Misses Webby and Underwood. Misses Kirk and Berry, assisted by Miss Ethel Bills, dispensed sweets; Misses Edmcd, Stevens and Powell had charge of the Christmas tree and bran tub; while the produce stall was supervised by Mrs F. S. Simcox, assisted by Miss D. Booth. The tea-rooms, which were well patronised, were in charge of Mrs J. R. Bills, assisted by Mesdamcs Freeman, Patching and Gordon, Misses At. Baker, D. Adsett, and M. Bills, while the shooting gallery, under tho guidance of Mr Walter Jepsan, was the means of considerably augmenting the funds. Tho takings at-the gathering totalled nearly £llO, made up as follows: Door £6 12s, sweets £S 3s, doll 's house £2 10s, Xmas-tree and bran-tub £l2. plain stall £37 14s 3d, woodwork stall (Mr and Mrs Best) £lO 10s, fancy stall £l3 16s 7d, produce £lO 19s, tea-rooms £7 9s.
