LAWN TENNIS.

The Otaki Lawn Tennis Club opens I jts season on Saturday afternoon next, ' when a large attendance is expected, ; including visitors from outside clubs, i A working bee was held on the grounds on Saturday afternoon last. A fair number of enthusiasts turned up, 1 and worked excellently, making a \a>t improvement to the courts and grounds, which had got into a neglected eQnui- , tion. There is yet much to be done, : however, and members are requested to j attend at the grounds on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons of this week, in . order to complete the'work of prepara--1 tion before the opening day.
There is every prospect of the club having a most successful season. Already a considerable number of new members are assured, including several good players. Now that the young men are home from the war interest in tennis should certainly increase, and. judging from present indications, all the clubs along the line will have a specially good season. The Levin Club has a very large membership. Msnakau Club has effected very considerable improvements to its courts and grounds, while Paraparaumu Club has taken a new lease of life, and efforts are being made to lay down another court there.
