METHODIST MISSIONS
Doubtless owing to the bad weather, there was only a sma]l attendance at the social gathering held 'at the Otnhi Methodist Church last night, when the Bey. T. G. Brooke (organising secretary for Methodist Home Missions) was present, and gave a most interesting address- Mr Brooke dealt principally with the bold, aggressive policy of missionary and chureh extension work adopted by the Conference of 101 S, but allowed to lapse by the Conference of I£>l9. owing to lack of funds. Mr Brooke spoke of the crying wants of the more scattered parts of New Zealand, and said the church was hampered be cau«e sufficient money was not available to earrv out a bold, aggressive policy such as might be expected of tin Methodist Church of New Zealand. - Brooke made an appeal for regular sub scribers for Home Mission work, am a liberal, response was met with Pongs were given by Eev - DaaK , and Mr Penn, and several hymns sunf V Afterwards sapper was served, and time spent by all- ' To-night the Bev.
