CHAMPIONSHIP FIXTURES. Third Round. October 1: To Horo v. Excelsior, at Levin; Y.M.C.A. v. Otaki, at Otaki; Tainui a bye. OTAKI (3) V. HUIA (3). • The Otaki Hockey Club's members journeyed to Wellington on Saturday to play a return game with the Huia Club’s representatives—a combination ■that is loading for the Wellington junjor championship, and that recently had no less than eight members in tho representative team against Canterbury. Soon after tho commencement of the gamo Otaki scored, but from this onward play was of a very even nature. Within a few minutes to time Huia had a lead by the narrow margin of ono goal, 3-2. Otaki, however, by some fine play, equalised matters, and the game ended three all. Giddens (2) and Cook scored for Otaki. The game proved a very fine one throughout, contested in the best of spirit, and was enjoyable from start to finish.

lu tho evening the visitors were royally entertained, when representatives of tho Wellington Hockey Association and members of various teams were present. Several toasts were enthusiastically honoured, and an enjoyable time spenf.

A match between the State and Convent School boys was played at Otaki or. Saturday afternoon, when an enjoyable contest resulted. The teams were evenly matched and the game was in doubt to tho finish. The first spell ended in favour of tho Convent lads, but tho position was reversed in the second, when the State School boys established a lead _and won 3-2. Edwards scored two goals and Cook one for the winners, while. D ’Ath and Cottercll scored for the losers. Tho lads on both sides played a fine game, and showed a gooA-rknowledge of tho rudiments of tho game. Mr H. Nicolson was referee.
