■■ Tho opening of the bdwling season in ) Otaki takes place on Wednesday, and provided the weather is fine there should bo many players and spectators j present. I At a meeting of the council of the I New Zealand Bowling Association at Christchflrch it was decided that next year’s tournament should be held at Christchurch, starting on Thursday, Bth January, and that the Executive Committee of the Christchurch Centre be a tournament committee. Arrangements in connection with the order of play were agreed to as follow: . The pairs to start on the Thursday, and to be played on the sectional system, players being guaranteed ■ five games, to bo followed by the sectional tics, after which the successful pairs will play off on the sudden death system. . ■ "iV.
Tho rinks will be played in sections of ten, three games of twenty-one heads being played each day, tho section winners to play off on tho two-life system. The rinks competition is expected to start on Monday, 12th January.
Tho singles will be played on the two life system, in sections of throe.
