OBITUARY.

A SAD CASE. The death occurred at the Otaki Hospital on Sunday morning of Mrs Minnie Lord, aged 30 years. Mrs Lord was engaged on the staff of the Family Hotel, Otaki. She was a new arrival in this district, and was highly respected, gho took ill very suddenly with pneumonia, and was removed to the hospital, where she succumbed, aftur six days' illness. Deceased's little daughter, aged 11 years, took ill with the same complaint, and now lies in the local hospital in a serious condition. The case is a particularly sad one, seeing that Mrs LoTd's husband lies at tho Lyttelton hospital, suffering from an incurable disease. Owing to his protracted illness Mrs Lord had to take a position to keep the family. The funeral took place yesterday, at i the Korhan Catholic Cemetery, the scr- ■ vice being conducted by the Rev. j Father Maillard. ■ ,
