—« The death took place at Palmerston North on Wednesday of Mrs Margaret Maiheson, relict of the late Mr Duncan Matbeson, and mother of Mr D. llatheson. Mayor of Levin. I It is stated on good authority that ' Mr G. A. Monk, trho was requested to , become a candidate for the Otski seat I at the coming general election, has decided not to accede to the request. I Mr J. Tho friends of Sister Chittenden, who before enlisting was senior sister in the Palmerston North Hospital, will 1 fee pleased to know that she expects j shortly to leave the Otaki Sanatorium, ' where she has feeen suffering from bronchitis trouble. She was unfortunj ate enough in her war journeys to j experience three winters in succession j without the benefit •of an intervening summer.
