MANAKAU DAIRY CO.
SHAREHOLDERS’ ANNUAL MEETING. The fourth annual meeting of shareholders of the Manakau Co-operative Dairy Company was held last week. The annual report of the directors stated that the credit to the profit and loan account would allow of a further payment of 2d per pound, bringing the total payment up to Is 11 l-3d per pound for butter-fat for cheese-making. This amount was a record for the company, and reflected great credit on the manager (Mr G. Mebarry). All the cheese, with the exception of one cor:-' signment, h .d been awarded first grade, which was also a record for the company. As the general store was holding up too muc? of the working capita!, it was decided in March last to sell out, and the realisation of the stock had given the company more working capital. The cheese made amounted to 101 tons 7ewt 2sr*. Sib, a slightly lower \ output than last year, due in a greatmeasure to the influenza epidemic, and later in the season to the dry wpell cutting down the supply of milk. The prosepeet* for the wesson now commencing wer* very good, and all that was required was the combined support of the suppliers to make next season another record. Regret was expressed at the resignation of Mr Frank M. ■Winter from the directorate -owing to bis departure from Manakau, and recognition of h & services wa= placed on record. The average test daring the past season bad been 4.G3S per cent. 1
