WELCOME SOCIAL. The Te Horo Patriotic Social Co.--mittec met on Thursday evening lash when matters in connection with the recent most successful social gathering were dealt with. The committee wa» well satisfied with the result of tie social. Donations by residents had totalled £7 4‘ fid while the expenditure, including travelling expense* of performersprinting, pianist's fee, hall rent, etctotalled £5 8* 3d. The ladies who had helped by bringing cakes, etc., for rapper were heartily thanked. The experience of the social teach.®* the following needs:—(a) More helper* in providing supper; (h) some method : by which vmtorit from outside the district may be enabled to help towards defrayin »expenses. As- is was felt not desirable to rank* z charge at the door at social*, the meeting decided to charg® men for tcc -fiance—collection to <*! taken up.
