OTAKI—THIS DAY. (Before J. Logan Stout, Esq., »S.M.) Civil Case. J. W. Hodgson v. Geo. Swensson, claim £3.—Judgment by default, costs Ss. Police Cases. Police v. Henry Perkins, application for prohibition order. No appearance of defendant. The constable stated that Perkins enmo into town and had periodical "bursts." He had seen Perkins, who raised no objection to the order. —Order granted. Police v. Wni. Atkinson, breach of prohibition order. No appearance of defendant, who, however, sent in a letter pleading guilty. The constable stated that on the 23r<i August ho saw accused at the theatre with a bottle of boor in his pocket, while he was under the influenco of liquor. He had already been fined for drunkenness. —Fined 30s, costs 7s, Geo. Watson (ranger) v. Janie* Power, charge of allowing eight cows to wander. Mrs Power pleaded guilty. Informant stated that the County Council had passed a resolution asking that severe penalties be imposed, as stock was dangerous and did much damage. On the day in question he saw other cattle on the road, but they were in charge of attendants. Mrs Power admitted her cattle were unattended, but contended the ranger seized her stock and left other cattle on the road. Fined Jss, cests 7s. Police v. James Ransfield, charge of wilfully •'amoging the ticket-box at Brights' Theatre, the property of Honi McMillan. On account of defendant being a juvenile the case was heard in the magistrate's private room.—Ad jo anted for 12 months, defendant not to be out after 8 p.m. during that. time, not to attend picture .-.hows, and to pay 10s damage.
