FIRE AT WAIKANAE.

' ’A Einc-foomcd house at Waikanae, belonging to Mr W. H. Field, M.P., was totally destroyed between 0 and 7 on iiunday morning. The building had been vacated by Mr Clias. Foalc only a few days ago, and Mr Smaill (Mr Field's manager) was to move in almost Immediately. The fire will mean a heavy loss to Mr Field, who was insured to only a third of the value of the house, which was valued at £IOOO. Mr Foalo had left his gig and harness at the premises, but could not remove them in time to avoid destruction, and in consequence suffers a loss of about £SO.
