NOTHING BUT LEAGUES.
The atmosphere in New Zealand appears .to bo charged just now with a league current. The number of leagues that have sprung into existence in recent months is countless. We are a progressive community. Wc have had one man one vote for about a quarter of a century. It now looks as though we were g~oing to have one man one league, the Citizens' League, the Welfare League, the Children's League, the Women's League, the Railway League, the Progressive League, the Efficiency League, and the Modrato League, with goodness knows how many more of them in the embryo stage. Every person who has a grievance against himself or his neighbour appears to get to work and manufacture a league. The business is being overdone in New Zealand, and one of these days a body of league-smashers will be Conned to put an end to the farce.— "Wairarapa Age."
