CONVENT SCHOOL.
COMMERCIAL EXAMINATION. The principal (Mr Walter D. Harrison) of the Home Study Business College (Sydney), in forwarding results of the recent commercial examinations, in which a number of Otaki Convent pupils participated, states that the Otaki candidates particularly distinguished themselves, both in theoretical as well as the practical section of bookkeeping, shorthand, and typewriting, and reflected great credit on the bisters in charge for the splendid training they have given their pupils in important business subjects. The character of the work done compared favourably with that of any of the large business colleges, lhe principal also added that intermediate pupils would obtain special certificates in the next examination, and be eligible for diplomas, while all pupils wh® now hold advanced, certificates were eligible for diplomas. Following are the list of passes:— Advanced Typewriting: Molly Curran 93 per cent, George Cotterell 92, Esina Pepper 94, Huia Noble 92. Junior Bookkeeping: Emily Batten 98, May Sweeney 94, Phillip Spiers 93. Maude Johnson 93, Kathleen Vaughan 90, Keith St. George 94, Ellerslie D’Ath, 90, Monica McLeod 96.
